History lesson

I have stood on Concord bridge, from which was fired “the shot that was heard around the world”, and visited the Brandywine battlefield on which was fought the biggest battle in that bitter seven-year war against American independence. It is not independence which engenders violence but the attempt to suppress it and retain dominion.
