1 Open-top bus tour It's amazing how different the city looks from the top deck.

2 The Scotch Whisky Experience, Royal Mile A theme-park ride in a whisky barrel and a chance to enjoy some of the finest malts the country has to offer.

3 Edinburgh Castle It towers over the Capital, but residents probably forget just how interesting it is.

4 The Scott Monument, Princes Street Gardens There's hundreds of steps to climb, but the views are worth the effort and show off the city centre from a whole new perspective.

5 The Forth Bridge It's a little out of the way, but it is such an impressive sight.
