Help with Fringe

Joyce McMillan (Weekend Life, 31 August) complains that few people go to see non-English-language shows at the Fringe. Perhaps she underestimates the huge influence that she and her fellow critics on your fine organ have.

The Fringe has grown so huge that we only go to events once they have been reviewed and we know they are worth attending. The official Fringe programme gives so little information about each event that it is impossible to make an informed choice in advance, and the prices have risen to such a height that it can be expensive to select something you want to walk out of after five minutes.

Perhaps the team at The Scotsman could prioritise reviewing those companies which have done well in previous years and review them earlier in the Fringe period.
