Heated exchange

At First Minister’s Questions on Thursday, Labour’s Jackie Baillie was on the offensive on the topic of fuel poverty in Scotland, currently standing at a staggering 39 per cent of households.

Nicola Sturgeon acknowledged that this was a tragic figure and called on Ms Baillie and the Labour Party to work together with the Scottish Government in asking the UK Government to do more to tackle the situation.

In declining to acknowledge this invitation, as Ms Baillie did, can I suggest she may have had prior knowledge of Ed Miliband’s keynote speech on the same day on the country’s future economy, when he announced some pensioners may lose their heating allowance should Labour be elected to government at Westminster next year.
