Hearing loss help

Like Dr Hugh Mackenzie (Letters, 3 June), I too have hearing loss. I have had to explain to
the local audiology department that I still have difficulty hearing even though I have two hearing aids.

This is mainly with speech, due to the prevalence of muzak.

On the plus side, I qualify for an annual disabled person’s railcard, which is cheaper at £20 than a standard railcard (£28).

Travel is not restricted to
off-peak hours, you get a third off each rail fare and your companion is also covered at the same rate.
