Healthy state

Your editorial (30 March) refers to “the already hard-pressed health service in Scotland”. Yes, there is pressure, but the present Scottish Government has managed to keep the NHS in Scotland intact and means to continue to do so.

The British Medical Journal of 30 March has a front page headline, “The End of England’s NHS?”

Text inside suggests that while little change may be noted immediately after current changes are introduced, their effects will be felt over the next few years.

The fears of doctors in England suggest to me that the NHS is safer in Scotland.

That might change if we reject independence.
