Happy return

Not having taken The Scotsman since Andrew Neil’s time, I was very happy to find that it is once again a forum for vibrant discussion, as it was during the 1970s and 80s. All sides in the political debate seem to be treated equally, and many of your contributors are ahead of most politicians in the clarity of their arguments.

Harvey Aberdein’s masterly piece (Perspective, 25 July) is one I would hate to have missed.

Contratulations to you and your staff for a revitalised nat-ional newspaper, much needed at present.
