Hail Mary

Mary, Queen of Scots may not have changed the world, but she certainly has had a huge impact on tourism to Scotland.

Expats, especially from America and Canada, visit Scotland on a Mary trail and visitors from France enjoy the link to Marie, Queen of France and Scotland.

Historians still argue over her significance in Scottish history. However, the Marie Stuart Society will be erecting a statue of her – the first official statue of our only sovereign queen – at Linlithgow in April 2015.

Donations are still required to reach the funding target.
