Greek gifts

I read with interest the views of José Manuel Barroso, the former EC president, that “the government made completely unrealistic promises to voters that it cannot now fulfil”.

He went on to say that the new administration lacked experience, made demands that were “completely unacceptable to other countries”, and highlighted unrealistic promises to ease economic austerity.

No, he does not have a crystal ball, but I do worry that we might end up using this same language to describe the SNP-led Scottish Government that he used to describe the new Greek administration.
