Good neighbours

As an inhabitant of the island, living south of the Border, I avidly awaited the debate on our independence to end our Union.

This Union is old and hard-won. It was born with much bloodshed, but has survived until now.

I fully believe we can achieve, and do, much more together in finance, in goodwill and in any influence we either want or need in the world.

We are neighbours. Surely we can work together.

The debate seemed to be about Scotland choosing; very little mention of the other partner of a Union.

The NHS came into the debate, with mention of it being stolen. Whose is it?

My friends seem to feel a sadness. I do. Our forbears on this land lie buried side by side in unison all over the world.
