Give it a whirl

Now that Google maps has “lost” Jura (your report, 20 July), isn’t it time we lost Corryvreckan whirlpool as well? A controlled explosion at the base of the underwater rock pinnacle (which causes the vortex) would remove the danger to shipping at a stroke. By doing so, maybe it would put Jura back on the map.
