Get out of jail free
Justice secretary Michael Matheson has, after mounting pressure, announced that the proposed £75 million Greenock prison for women has been cancelled (your report 27 January).
Women have fought long and hard for equal rights so it is strange that female offenders will now be treated more favourably than men.
