Gesture politics

THE rhetoric coming out of Westminster reminds me of a quotation: “Politics is the gentle art of getting votes from the poor and campaign funds from the rich by promising to protect each from the other.”

On watching and listening to the aggressive language and hostile hand gestures at Prime Minister’s Questions in the House of Commons, I think the word “gentle” could be removed from that quote.

I do wonder if Prime Minister David Cameron can express himself without waving his hands about?
