Your report (15 March) contains three perfectly accurate forms of address. In the cases of Lord and Lady, Duke and Duchess, King and Queen, as well as Sir and Lady, the female title is honorary, deriving directly from the title conferred on the male, who therefore has precedence of address.
This arrangement does not apply in reverse; otherwise we would now have King Philip, and any married woman ennobled as baroness would automatically create another baron.
