Fundamental difference between patriotism
and nationalism

I CANNOT express how delighted I am that the referendum proved to be a triumph for those who wished the UK to remain intact. My reasons are not political, or constitutional, or economic, or even emotional. I would be fearful of a Scotland run in the manner displayed by many in the SNP and their allies throughout the campaign. A Scotland where opponents are labelled “anti-Scottish”, or are threatened with retribution for stating an opinion; or pelted with eggs as they tried to put forward another view. There is the odd fruitcake in every political grouping but this was something else. I would have been fearful of a Scotland where free speech is no longer precious.
