Fuel poverty
I admire David Cameron for taking on the energy companies and trying to get their prices down, but they will be quick to run for cover behind the wholesale international energy costs and hotly deny that cartel arrangements keep their customers from switching supplier.
All we can hope for, after some massive increases this autumn, is that they will not apply any more price increases until after the winter.
David Cameron would do better to cut back on some dubious overseas aid and focus on helping people on fixed incomes in the UK get through what could be a very hard winter. Many families will slip into fuel poverty for the first time.
