SO Climate Change Secretary Ed Miliband intends to take Soviet or Maoist-style revenge on anyone who dares question his mindset on climate change (your report, 1 February), which has now become what in America is referred to as a group-think – where its believers have an illusion of their invulnerability, their morality and their unanimity; they subconsciously refuse to examine or accept any alternative evidence or expert opinion, they become highly-selective when gathering information

Group-think normally attracts loners or the immature who seek solace with others who share at least one of their objectives, but is dangerous when someone with influence becomes blinded by such an obsession.
