Flotta foundered

The story of the discovery of HMS Flotta (your report, 16 April) tells us that the ship – a trawler converted to a minesweeper – having run aground on Buchan Ness, eventually “floated off and floundered three miles away”. She may well have “floundered” in her role as a fishing boat but, in this case, tragically, she foundered.
