Flippant words

I wholeheartedly agree with the letter from Mary Morrison (14 September) criticising the flippant headlines used in your article on the theft of the panel from the Great Tapestry of Scotland.

“‘A case for Scotland Yarn” and “Whospunnit?” – childish to say the least and diminishing the seriousness of this crime.

If this act of theft and vandalism had taken place in Edinburgh, would your headline writer still have reported it in such a lighthearted way?
