Ryanair may be walking away from Edinburgh Airport (your report, 12 April) but a cut in passenger numbers from 1.8 million to 1.5 million is not “more than 30 per cent”; indeed it is more like 16.6 per cent.

As for Lufthansa taking over the Frankfurt route, it already operates the route; indeed it operates from Frankfurt proper, while Ryanair operated to “Frankfurt Hahn”, some 80 miles from Frankfurt.
