Fitting tribute

I noted the untimely passing of Iain Banks (your reports, 10 June), a man whose imagination and energy has influenced a generation in a way that few ever achieve.

Is it to too late to mount a campaign to call the replacement Forth crossing simply “The Bridge”?

It would be a small nod
towards a great man who lived and died in Fife, and who contributed so much to Scottish culture in the past 30 years.

Why not call the new crossing “Banks Bridge”? and if people cross it in years to come, it will bring Iain Banks of North Queensferry back into their minds.
