Fiscal safety net
I was surprised to see your comments that third-sector bodies favoured devo-max (editorial, 5 November). They depend on government funding, and the implementation of devo-max as set out by the Scottish Government would lead to a significant fiscal deficit for Scotland.
Fortunately, the UK government’s principle that the changes should be fiscally neutral across the UK should prevent this fiscally reckless proposal from being the way ahead.
