First things first

The SNP government is seeking enhanced new powers after being defeated in the referendum.

It already has powers over the health service, education and law and order – all running ­perfectly? No, they are not.

Education is in a mess, police morale is at its lowest level in years, there is a huge NHS shortfall and hospital food is a joke.

Let’s wait and see if the ­government can organise the powers it already has before risking any more.
