Fighting talk

It beggars belief that Paul Scott (Opinion, 18 January) could call, supposedly seriously, for "less adversarial" politics at Holyrood and accuse the three main non- nationalist parties of "opposing for the sake of the opposing".

The truth is that his own party, the SNP, is the most adversarial of them all.

Anyone witnessing the operations of the arch-adversarial Alex Salmond, both as First Minster and when in opposition, would be most surprised on reading Mr Scott's remarks.

The blustering, browbeating, bullying Mr Salmond being prevented from doing as he wants by those other nasty parties being too adversarial? Is Mr Scott serious? It should be remembered also that the SNP is the party of the ultra-vicious cybernats and the "black ops department", who have lowered political debate in Scotland to gutter level.

To suggest that only those opposed to Scottish nationalism are adversarial is nonsense.
