Fife to the fore

As a recent visitor to Fife, I was very impressed by the cleanliness and tidiness of the public buildings, parks and roads as well as the absence of graffiti which so disfigures many buildings in England and abroad.

In particular I had the pleasure of doing a stretch of the Fife coastal walk between Kirkcaldy and East Wemyss, and paying visits to Kirkcaldy, Methil and Leven.

The economic and social blight of these towns which I remember in the 1960s has certainly been replaced by a cleaner environment and a desire by many people to take due care of their surroundings. Long may this continue.
