Female faces
I was most surprised when I read your “sad farewell to famous faces in 2014” (30 December) to find there was no mention of two of our most famous folk/trad singers, Jean Redpath and Sheila Stewart.
Jean sang at the opening of our parliament and Sheila paid great tributes to her mother’s songs and tales of the berry pickers of Blairgowrie.
This from a newspaper which a few years ago gave us a special edition, The Scotswoman.
