Far from funny

I have just spent the past 30 minutes (in the interests of research, you understand), watching the "comedy sketch show" – Burnieston on BBC2. It lived down to all my expectations.

It is difficult to see how the writers can sink so low as to sign their names to such infantile rubbish, but, even worse, it shows the contempt for the viewers of those at BBC Scotland who commissioned the programme and foisted it on the paying public.

It must be a cunning plot by the unionist parties to destroy Scottish self-confidence and make us think that, without the Union, this is all we will get.
