Far from exodus

The editorial, “Kirk’s stance on gay ministers worth the risk” (31 May), was measured and welcome. But let us not lose sight of the fact that there may also be bisexual, lesbian and transgendered ministers to be factored into the discussion.

However, the front page headline on the same day, “Kirk faces new exodus in row over gay 
clergy”, appeared to be verging on sensationalism.

The two congregations in the Western Isles have still to vote, and although it would be sad for the Kirk to lose them, they are but two. Adding St George’s Tron and Gilcomston to those two churches makes four. Hardly an exodus.
