Explaining UFOs

You ask "Could they be watching? Is someone out there? Who knows" (your report, 18 February). Someone may be "out there" but a long way off and unable to visit. Nick Pope thinks a few reports are "genuinely unexplained". He has not tried hard enough. The more information one was about a report, the more likely it is to be explained. In the limit, all reports are explicable, though sometimes only with good knowledge of meteorological optics.
