Euro scepticism

I was interested to read of the Chancellor George Osborne’s warning that the eurozone crisis was the cause of our economic recovery prospects being “killed off” (your report, 11 June).

Since the UK is not in the euro currency, he is simply using the infinite troubles of the eurozone countries as a convenient scapegoat for the failure of his policies which have stifled economic growth and failed to stimulate employment, leading us into a double-dip recession.

Unless George Osborne bites the bullet and does a U-turn on economic policy, we face many more years of high unemployment and an economy bumping along a long, rough road.
