Euro crisis

The sight of the main European leaders scurrying about having crisis meetings almost daily as they seek a solution to the euro debt problems does not inspire much confidence in worldwide economic assessment of the way forward for the single currency.

Prime Minister David Cameron has repeatedly stated that the UK will not join the euro and many in this country would fully agree but additionally would like to see an exit from the European Union at the earliest opportunity.

The massive debt problems of the eurozone may well be insurmountable and lead to the collapse of the single currency, plunging the member states into an economic vacuum of uncharted waters.
