Alex Salmond’s case for the ease with which we would gain entry into Europe under Article 48 with our current share of the rebate and without having to join the eurozone is falling apart.
The most likely scenario is that, come 5 May, 2016, the date of the next Holyrood election, no progress whatsoever could have been made on European entry.

Hide AdWith Salmond’s strategy exposed by that time as having been based on a false prospectus, the likelihood of the SNP retaining power is inconceivable.
It is becoming clearer every day that Ian Gardner (Letters, 26 May) is correct in suggesting that a second referendum will be essential.
