England’s glory

Nigel May (Letters, 15 July) asks Scots to stay in the UK in order to help the English, and others, to make matters better.

Other English voices have urged Scots to vote Yes to independence in order to change the present set-up and thereby free and encourage people in England to create a fairer order there.

A few Scottish MPs in a UK Parliament cannot solve England’s problems, but the people of England can. It is ironic that Mr May writes from Cornwall where there is a Cornish national movement.
