End of the line?

WILL a consequence of "Scotland's new ferry port" (your report, 11 February), be the closure of the Girvan-Stranraer railway line? Perhaps the re-extension of that spectacular line along the Stranraer-Cairnryan trackbed might be part of such a 21st-century plan. Surely it would be even better for the carbon footprint.

I was very interested in the artist's impression of the new Stena terminal to replace Stranraer. The only thing was that I could not see any sign of the railway station to serve it. Why was that?
