Empty promises?

the new film about Donald Trump’s golf plans at Menie will obviously show the First Minister in a bad light, but it also highlights the value of his government’s promises and their lack of trust (your report, 24 June). The government’s support for the Trump project promised 6,000 jobs that never materialised, partly because it conflicted with its desire to blight our landscapes with uneconomic wind turbines.

What value can we attach to the SNP’s independence promises of untold wealth and jobs for all? This was actually a project with the near certainty of substantial investment that could have created these jobs, but dogma seems more important to the First Minister than people’s futures. This is a warning we should heed.
