Elitist view of birds

Charles Brown (Letters, 21 February) is right to cast doubt on the idea that wind turbines kill more raptors than other birds. It is more likely that birds trying to escape such predators would fly into turbine blades.

It is regrettable if birds die as a result of this inevitable evolution in power production. But the suggestion, which others have made, that raptors are in some way superior to other bird species is elitist and wrong.
