Election fatigue

I am sure that many will sympathise with Dennis Forbes Grattan’s election fatigue (Letters, 1 April).

In fact, we know what the broad result will be – a parliament dominated by the Conservative and Labour parties with a government led by one of them.

They may differ on points of detail and in emphasis but neither is going to make any fundamental change to the prevailing socio-economic system,
attitude to foreign affairs or constitution.

Whatever the result, the vast majority of the electorate will experience no significant change to their way of living. So relax, dears, it’s only an election!
