Elect to vote

One can’t stress enough the importance of this week in Scottish politics, when we have the opportunity to elect those who will be running our councils.

The massive responsibility on the shoulders of those elected should not be taken lightly.

The decisions they take affect us all from the moment we open our eyes in the morning, and these decisions affect us all personally and collectively in our communities.

That is why turnout should not be an issue and voters should be constantly reminded that the country’s future depends on decisions taken at their local council.

Decisions on vital issues like education, the country’s future; housing, something everyone is entitled to and requires; social care, something we may all require in the future – the list could go on and demands respect and recognition of those vital services within our communities.

So taking time out on Thursday to influence those vital services in your community is an opportunity that must be grasped by all voters.

Don’t let apathy be the winner on Thursday.
