Ebola vetting

A quarantine centre for those wishing to depart west Africa is an obvious solution to ensuring, as best one can, that Ebola does not spread from 
the African countries already 
infected.

The clear answer is to have a medical ship (or ships) anchored inshore off the coast of Africa where those wishing to leave that area would spend time so they can be confirmed Ebola-free and then sent on their way home or treated on-site if diagnosed infected.

Being isolated at sea would significantly reduce accidental infection compared with similar shore-based quarantined areas which would be more susceptible to accidental infection.

The current system of allowing people to move around the globe and then check them at their destination is absurd, as has been proved in the unfortunate case of the Glasgow-based nurse.
