Drink problem

It is not surprising to hear the medical staff who do a difficult job in the Accident & Emergency units complaining about drunk people creating additional problems and often becoming violent whilst they are treating patients, many of whom are in some considerable distress.

The police are always quick to respond in tackling these drunks but the root of the problem lies with publicans and nightclubs who continue selling drink to people who have 
clearly had too much.

It is high time for the police 
to enforce the existing laws regarding selling drink to those who have had too much, as the existing policy is clearly not working.
