Your report (6 September) suggests that the Scottish Government has blamed the cold weather for Scotland’s carbon footprint increasing in 2010.

Am I the only person puzzled by the difference in emphasis in the public pronouncements of the Scottish Government depending on whether our carbon footprint increases or declines?

When it declines, the Scottish Government fails to talk much about warmer winters and instead trumpets its renewable energy policy but when it increases the colder weather takes the blame and little mention is made of the millions spent on useless wind farms.
