Double standards

No doubt you will receive letters comparing the shooting down of the Malaysian airliner to Israel’s actions in Gaza, and that suits many as a wonderful distraction, because there is a glaringly similar historic comparable available that must make Barack Obama, John Kerry and their coat-tailers in Europe uncomfortable.

Or they would if they had an ounce of shame.

The USS Vincennes shot down an Iranian airliner in July 1988 killing 290 people (66 children).

America lied for years about what happened and still hasn’t admitted guilt or apologised,
although it has handed over some cash to compensate “without prejudice”.

For America there isn’t even the mitigation of “backed” rebels being responsible. No trials, no change. Double standards are at work, yet again.
