Distractions

I WAS initially appalled to read that four in ten motorists check their phones while driving (your report, 17 October), but then I realised how much time I spend in my car, stationary, due to traffic jams and tram works.

We shouldn’t be so quick to judge. Drivers would go out of their minds if they weren’t allowed to look at their messages.
