Disruptive move?

Your report (7 December)
detailing the Kirk’s wicked – there is no other word for it – treatment of the seceding St George’s Tron congregation in Glasgow, together with its minister, the
Rev William Philip, leads me to wonder how deserving of the name Christian the Church of Scotland continues to be.

I understood love in the ranks was the distinguishing mark of disciples of Jesus. Maybe I am wrong and that vindictiveness under the guise of a commitment to legality is what Christ said was to mark out followers of his. By contrast, the Kirk’s
attitude to those who contradict her confession of faith in word and behaviour are shown nothing but kindness. Has the time come for a fresh Disruption of the Church of Scotland?
