Delivery assured

READING Audit Scotland’s reported reference to the Borders Railway’s need for a “clear delivery timetable” (your report, 21 June) raises the question of whether Audit Scotland has spoken to officials of Transport Scotland and Network Rail, who began substantive construction works back in April?

Work is progressing apace at a wide variety of sites along the 30.5 miles of new railway, and project officials have indicated that the track will be laid by the end of 2014 and services will commence in summer 2015.

It serves no purpose for anyone to imply that there is any doubt about its delivery.
