Defence costs

I am writing to express my alarm that the people of Scotland have no clear indication how they will be protected after the independence vote.

The first responsibility of government is to protect its people. There will be no Royal Navy, no Royal Air Force, no Royal Scots. Perhaps we will have a simple defence force which will be unable to cover and provide security to all of Scotland.

Defence is not just about troops on the ground but high levels of technology, consisting of radar systems, warning posts and listening stations, which at the moment are the property of the UK government and which we share.

Can we afford our own?

The people of Scotland
should be told the cost of
defending the realm in an
independent Scotland.
