Day to remember

I wrote to you last year with regards to the City of Edinburgh Council’s apparent attitude to the treatment of the armed forces and veterans.

On Sunday I participated in the Armed Forces Day held within the Grassmarket area and, I have to say, what a difference a year makes.

The whole day was excellent and the effort put in to making this happen has to be commended. I hope the quality is maintained.

A big thank you to the Royal British Legion Scotland and, in particular, Kevin Gray MM, more so for the way he has listened to and acted upon our (all veteran associations) complaints and rectified them to a highly satisfactory degree.

The only issue/complaint from veterans is that we would still like to muster at and start the march from Edinburgh Castle Esplanade.

The tourists in the area on Sunday were mightily impressed and the size of the crowds is testament to a well organised event. Thank you to all.
