Dalgety radiation
There are protozoa on Mars with a greater knowledge of physics than Gordon Brown and the other hysterics who ramped up the silly scare story about Dalgety Bay radiation (your report, 30 October).
The radiation traces come from vintage military dials incinerated when some aircraft were dismantled on the old Donibristle airfield at the end of the Second War War.

Hide AdThe new Health Protection Agency report dismisses the “threat” and the fact is the Dalgety radiation is less than two-thirds of that found on any street in Aberdeen.
Detection instruments are hypersensitive, so dire reports may still emerge from beach combers with second-hand Geiger counters but local residents should now rest easy.
