Cycling safety
Sir Allan Ramsay (Letters, 29 July) asserts that cyclists are 15 times more likely to die than other road users.
This may be true when comparing cyclists with car drivers but it is not true when other road users are considered.
Walking and motorcycling both carry a higher risk of death on the road than cycling – in the case of motorcycling, it is several orders of magnitude higher.
