You quote Alex Salmond (4 September) saying: “If we are stopped from having a share of the Bank of England’s assets then we have no legal or moral obligation to accept liabilities.”

So an independent Scotland would not repay its share of the UK’s debt.

In that case, why should Scotland be permitted to continue to increase the UK debt in 2014-15 and 2015-16, between the date of a Yes result and the date of independence?

Expenditure cuts of about 
£10 billion would be required to stop Scotland from incurring more debt that it intends to walk away from.
